Saturdays are the day we really focus on MMA. We have an open gym policy and let people from other gyms come and train MMA with us on Saturday mornings for the MMA classes.
Joe Lauzon’s boxing coach, Steve Maze, runs a short MMA drilling session at 11am, focused on good mechanics and footwork for an MMA fight for 30 minutes.
Then we do 30 minutes of MMA sparring with 16oz boxing gloves. This is mostly kickboxing, but takedowns and clinching are encouraged when done in a safe manner.
The last piece starts around noon time where Joe Lauzon will run the group through some ground and pound drilling and live work on the ground from various positions.

These times are not structured classes. Instead, they are designated for live training, where members can practice techniques, drill, or engage in live rounds. Think of them as an opportunity to focus on specific goals, improve through active participation, and get everyone on the same page. Coaches are available to provide guidance, but the format is more flexible than a traditional class.
