Good Training Starts With Good Hygiene
One of the things that makes Lauzon MMA special is the energy in the room. Adults, kids, and families all showing up excited to train, learn, and improve together. That shared enthusiasm is a big part of our culture.
To keep our Academy healthy and welcoming for everyone, we need to be mindful of a few simple but important habits — both as students and as parents.
For Adult Students
Wash Your Gi & Training Gear — Every Time
Your gi, rashguard, shorts, and spats all collect sweat and bacteria during training.
Please make sure to:
-
Wash your gi after every class
-
Wash your rashguard and No-Gi gear after every class
-
Let everything fully dry before wearing it again
Clean gear isn’t just about you — it’s about protecting your training partners.
Respect the mats. Respect your teammates.
Stay Home If You’re Sick
We love the dedication our adult students show. That “show up no matter what” mindset builds discipline — but it has limits.
If you’re feeling sick:
-
Colds, flu symptoms, fevers, stomach bugs — please sit it out
-
Missing one class will not set you back
-
Coming in sick can affect everyone you train with
Jiu-jitsu isn’t going anywhere. Take the day, recover, and come back ready.
Missing one day is better than spreading it to the whole room.
For Parents & Kids’ Programs
Clean Gear Matters for Kids Too
Kids train hard, sweat a lot, and spend plenty of time on the mats.
Please help us by:
-
Washing your child’s gi, rashguard, and belt regularly
-
Making sure gear is clean and dry before class
-
Avoiding reused gear that sat damp in a bag
This helps keep your child — and their teammates — safe and healthy.

Please Keep Sick Kids Home
We understand how much kids look forward to class, and we love that enthusiasm. But if your child isn’t feeling well, the best choice is to rest at home.
If your child has:
-
A fever
-
Cold or flu symptoms
-
Stomach issues
Please skip class that day.
They won’t fall behind, and instructors are always happy to help them get back on track when they return.
One missed class is a small price for a healthy team.
This Is About Community

Our Academy works because people care about more than just their own training. Good hygiene and smart decisions help:
-
Keep classes running smoothly
-
Protect kids and adults alike
-
Make the gym a place everyone feels comfortable training
We truly appreciate everyone who already does these things consistently. When in doubt, err on the side of caution and kindness.
Thank you for helping keep Lauzon MMA a clean, healthy, and positive place to train.
