Kids News
This week in our Vipers and Cobras classes is one of my favorite weeks of the month — test and stripe nights.
Between February Break and last week’s snow, it’s going to be great to have everyone back on the mats together. We’ll be finishing up our February skills, tightening up the details, and giving the kids a chance to show what they’ve been working on.
Stripe week isn’t just about technique. It’s about consistency. Who showed up. Who pushed through tough rounds. Who kept trying when something felt hard.
The Lauzon Life Lesson of the Week is:
Make Choices You’ll Be Proud Of.
We talk to the kids about this in simple terms:
Think ahead. If you look back at this moment later, will you be proud of how you handled it?
That applies on the mats — not quitting during drills.
It applies at school — doing the right thing even if friends aren’t.
It applies at home — helping out without being asked.
Little choices stack up. That’s how confidence is built.

Kids Summer Camp Registration Is OPEN
Our Kids Summer Camp is officially open for registration.
Parents asked for:
-
Longer days
-
A full Monday–Friday schedule
-
More structure
-
More variety so kids stay active and engaged
So that’s exactly what we built.
It’s organized. It’s active. It’s skill-based. And yes — it’s a ton of fun.
Spots will be limited so we can keep the quality high and the groups manageable. If you’ve been thinking about it, now is the time to lock it in. Stop by the front desk and we’ll walk you through the details.
Gym News
We had a big day at NAGA Hanover yesterday.
Competitions are always interesting. They test your technique, sure — but they really test your composure, your preparation, and your mindset.
Win or lose, showing up matters.
One of my favorite parts of competition days is the camaraderie. Teammates coaching each other. Parents cheering for kids who aren’t even their own. The whole team warming up together.
That’s what makes it special.
We’re incredibly proud of everyone who stepped on the mats yesterday and represented the academy the way they did.

We made it to March.
The days are getting longer. The warm weather isn’t far off. Energy starts to shift this time of year — and we’re leaning into it.
We’re kicking off monthly in-house seminars, starting with the first one:
Friday, March 13th at 6pm with Joe Lauzon.

These seminars are a chance to slow down, dive deep into details, and train together in a slightly different format than our regular classes. Whether you’re newer or have been training for years, there’s always something to sharpen.
If you have any questions, stop by the front desk and we’ll get you set up.
Let’s have a strong March. Show up. Make good choices. Be proud of the work you put in.
