Kids BJJ Summer Camp at Lauzon MMA: Built From Parent Feedback
Every summer, we run our Kids Summer Camp at Lauzon MMA — and every year, we try to make it better.
This year’s camp is the result of something simple but important: we listened to your feedback.
Parents asked for longer days, a full Monday–Friday schedule, and more structure with variety so kids stay busy, active, and learning the entire time they’re with us. So that’s exactly what we built.

What’s New This Summer?
Based on your input, we made some meaningful upgrades to our camp format:
-
Longer camp days: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
-
Five days a week: Monday through Friday
-
Six total weeks available so families can choose what works best
-
A wider range of daily activities to keep kids engaged from drop-off to pickup
The goal?
A camp where kids are active, focused, learning, and having fun — without downtime turning into chaos.
More Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Than Ever Before
This year’s camp isn’t just at a martial arts academy — it’s a true BJJ-focused camp.
We intentionally planned each week to include more time on the mats, with lessons that build on each other instead of jumping randomly from topic to topic.
Campers will:
-
Train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu twice every day
-
Learn core BJJ concepts, not just individual moves
-
Practice applying techniques through drills and live rounds (when appropriate)
-
Build confidence by understanding why techniques work, not just how
By slowing things down and spending real time on key positions and concepts, kids get better — not just more tired.
Whether your child is brand new or already training regularly, this approach helps them progress in a meaningful, age-appropriate way.

A Structured Day Kids Thrive In
Every camp day follows a consistent structure that kids quickly get comfortable with. That consistency helps them stay confident and focused, while the variety keeps things exciting.
Here’s what a typical day looks like:
-
Drop-off games to ease into the morning
-
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Lesson 1 (technique and drilling)
-
Games and physical challenges
-
Snack break (campers bring their own snack and water)
-
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Lesson 2 with live rounds where appropriate
-
Reading time and journaling to slow things down and build good habits
-
Group activities or daily challenges
-
Pick-up games to finish the day strong
Kids are moving, learning, and thinking — not sitting around waiting for the next activity.

More Than Just Martial Arts
Yes, kids train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu every day. But camp at Lauzon MMA is about more than learning techniques.
Throughout the week, campers work on:
-
Confidence and self-control
-
Listening and following directions
-
Problem-solving and teamwork
-
Taking responsibility for themselves and their space
These are skills that carry over to school, sports, and home — long after summer ends.

Why Parents Keep Coming Back
Parents tell us the same things every year:

Their kids are excited to come back each morning

-
They’re more confident and focused by the end of the week
That’s exactly what we aim for.
