Yesterday our team headed out to NAGA, and it was one of those days where the hard work, the drilling, and the hours on the mats truly paid off. We had both kids and adults competing, and while our kids held their own, our adult competitors absolutely crushed it. It was an incredible showing of skill, composure, and heart across the board.
And yes—we brought home the Adult No-Gi Team Trophy. 👊🔥

Individual Highlights
We had an outstanding list of strong performances and podium finishes from our team, including our adults:
Helen, Bridget, Jake, Ryan Morris, Peter Souza, Sean Andrews, Deven, and Shane.
As well as great effort from some of our kids: Hal, Gabriel, Maddox and Lincoln!
They all stepped up, competed hard, and represented the Academy incredibly well.
In total, our team earned:
-
8 Gold Medals
-
2 Silver Medals
-
5 Bronze Medals

The Big Moments
While everyone fought their hearts out, a few moments stood out:
⭐ Sean Steals the Show in White Belt Absolute
Sean jumped into the White Belt Absolute division—open weight—and beat multiple opponents who were significantly bigger. That’s the kind of performance that gets the whole team yelling from the sideline. Pure grit. Pure technique.

⭐ Shane & Peter Close Out BOTH Divisions
Shane and Peter not only dominated their Gi divisions but also closed out No-Gi together as well. It’s rare for two teammates to run through a bracket together twice in one day, and they did it with control and confidence.
Their combined performance set the tone for the entire adult squad.

Proud Coaches. Proud Teammates. Proud Academy.
Whether someone won a medal, battled through tough matches, or simply stepped onto the NAGA mats for the first time, yesterday showed what Lauzon MMA is all about:
-
Showing up
-
Supporting each other
-
Competing with respect
-
And giving our absolute best
We’re incredibly proud of everyone who represented the Academy.
