Last night was fantastic for our team at Cage Titans – we went 5-0! All our fighters gave their best, and it showed. Here’s a recap of the action:
Jon McNeil continued his unbeaten streak, improving to 3-0 as a pro. He faced a strong and tough opponent but won by decision. What made this victory even more impressive is that John had COVID last week. We considered pulling out of the fight, but Jon was determined to push through – and he did an amazing job. Jon is now 3-0 as a Pro.
Hilarie Rose got her revenge against Gabriella Gulphin, securing a decision win. The last time they fought, Hilarie got caught sleeping a bit and was caught in a rear naked choke. Gabriella is tough and a bit awkward in her style, but Hilarie handled it well. Despite finding herself in a few tight spots, Hilarie dominated every round and came out on top.
Joe Poirier had a nail-biting match but emerged victorious with a split decision. It was a back-and-forth battle, but Joe landed the better shots, earning him the win he deserved. Joe is now 5-1 as a Pro.
Andrew Valdina showcased his skills against Tyler Smythe. We knew Tyler would try to wrestle, but Andrew’s striking and wrestling were on point. He controlled the fight from start to finish and landed the better shots throughout. Andrew is now 6-0 as a Pro.
In the main event, Peter Barrett faced off against Joe Giannetti and won by split decision. It shouldn’t have been split – Peter clearly won three of the five rounds. It was a hard-fought battle with plenty of trash talk leading up to it, but Peter’s dedication paid off. Despite sustaining cuts on his shin and elbow, requiring staples, he outperformed Giannetti’s grappling and came out ahead. This fight had been brewing for eight years, and it was finally settled last night. Pete is now the Cage Titans Lightweight World Champion!
I’m incredibly proud of everyone’s hard work and dedication. Every fighter put in the time and effort, and it really showed. Great job, everyone.
