Wrap your arm around their head as far as you can. If you don’t have a good “bite”  on their neck, move onto something else. 


Guillotine Grip

Grab your choking forearm/hand with your other hand. 

Think about your fingers splitting into a “V”, with two fingers grabbing your wrist and two fingers grabbing your hand.

This grip gives us minimal loss of pressure and good protection. 

Break the stick

Think of breaking a stick: you put downward pressure at opposing ends and upward pressure in the middle. Their head to neck to torso is the stick. 

Your armpit holds their head down. 

Your forearm comes up through their neck.

Their bodyweight adds downward pressure on the other end.
