Covid Class Tips
We are trying to abide by the state’s guidelines while getting as many people through classes as possible. This is not an ideal situation, and I promise it is WAY more work for us… but we are trying to do our best for you. Please read over this overly long list before each class, because it’s all annoying but important. This page will updated as we go, so watch for changes.
We appreciate your understanding that things may not always go as smooth as we would like.
Please follow these guidelines so we can stay as safe as possible.
Do I have to wear a mask? When you arrive: yes. Once you have been cleared and have reported to your own training area, you may take the mask off for class.
Where are parent’s during class? We thought about sending parents to their cars to wait there, but we are going to set up a parents area with spaced out seats. We didn’t want to have to deal with parents going missing and we need things to run quickly and smoothly. We are not allowing parents to drop off their kids and leave… they must stay. There is also a nice edge of grass the entire length of the parking lot that is in the shade, and that has been a nice place for parents to sit.
How will the weather affect things? We are doing classes outside and there is a LOT of equipment and things that have to happen everyday before and after classes. If the weather is bad, we will be emailing and posting on the Facebook groups about cancellations. If the weather looks like rain, we will likely be cancelling classes.
What’s the uniform policy? We are running all the kids classes in shorts and a t-shirt. It’s going to be hot outside and directly in the sun… so we are going to stop the uniform policy and change it to whatever shorts and shirt you would like (tank top, short sleeve, long sleeve, sports bra are all fine), and Gi for the BJJ classes. We are also advising people to wear sneakers for their classes.
What about the Zoom classes? Most of the zoom classes are done. We still have 4 classes going a week from Danny Savery’s gym. You can find the dates, times and information on those in the Lauzon MMA Student hub. Let us know if you need the password.
